The Freeride World Tour had his 2nd stop in Chamonix this WE for the Nissan Freeride, sponsored by Dynastar for the 2nd year, at home.
A ski museum had been settled in the centre of the village showing the historical Freeride series of the Mont Blanc brand, from the Arno Adam ’s 4×4 to the A. Ducroz’ big Dump.
Riders from Dynastar Team were able to run on Sunday under a beautiful sun. Snow had fallen well but the ground was undependable with parts of big powder and very hard parts.
All the riders had however only one idea in mind : ski the biggest run ever ; they have been able to provide a really very high level of ski and a great show !
Aurélien Ducroz finished only 13th and Thomas Diet 18th of this Nissan Freeride won by Candide Thovez, followed by Kaj Zackrisson (SWE) & Tim Dutton (USA).
Aurélien had chosen a very interesting line. Unfortunately during a change of snow, he lands up throwed off and falls. But he’s still on skis and continues his run with amazing jumps…
Of course, he’s disappointed: “that didn’t happen as expected, the line was promising but after a good part in some good powder, I landed up on some hard snow and I didn’t manage to hold. Nevertheless, this run give me the confidence for the next stage. There are another 3 events and it’s far from being finished. I made a good exit and there are good things to keep. ”
Thomas, with the number 36, has competed on a difficult ground. He realizes a beautiful run in spite of a fall which make him loose a lot of points. Like Aurélien, Thomas was disappointed but
he still wants to prove his talent among the best world riders. Highly motivated, he’s already training for the next stage.
Both Dynastar riders will be over-motivated for the postponed session of Sochi which will take place normally in Courmayeur in the middle of the week.
To be continued…
