Coming back from an injury, only a few weeks ago, the Swiss racer Dominique Gisin, 24 years old, was close to be on the podium of the Olympic downhill in Whistler Creek. Behind of Julia Mancuso by a few hundreds of a second all race long, until the very last gate, Dominique fell heavily and stopped just before the finish line after a long jump.
Shaken but not seriously injuried, Dominique was disappointed but her spirit for upcoming events.
“My head hurts a bit and I’m a bit dizzy. There were a lot of jumps coming out of turns, which are not easy. There were a lot of bumps. I tried my best.”
I had a really long final jump and I started to turn in the air and I just tried to fall without hurting myself”
“Some days are just not your day. But you hope that day is not an Olympic day…”
Dominique Gisin so close to clinch an Olympic medal!
